Bicycle tour from Rome to the Via Appia Antica
The Appian Way Bike Tour is the best bike tour in Rome as it is traffic free and suitable for families. Using an electric bicycle allows everyone to be able to partecipate
The Appia Antica is an ancient roman road starting from the Aurelian Walls and Gate of St. Sebastian and is protected as a national monument. Cycling the trails and paths that run alongside the Appian Way brings us to the Park of the Aqueducts where we are able to see the Roman Aqueducts up close. On our way back into the city we pass through woods and a natural spring for a lunch break.

This was our second tour with Glen and we thoroughly enjoyed both. The catacombs are a must see and what better way to go than by bike. The tour is fun and the cycling not to tough. Our 12 year old coped fine. Glen is an excellent guide and very personable. We rode along paths and tracks you’d never visit any other way. If you want to get away from the crowds take this tour, you won’t regret it!
If Musa is still there, ask for him to guide your tour. He’s such an intelligent, thoughtful and fun guide. Rome is special, but this tour will add much to your experience.
This tour is just perfect if you want something off the beaten path. Glen was our guide and he was fun, informative, and easy going. He was knowledgeable of the area, answering all questions we had. He did not rush us and let us make all the stops we wanted. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed!
We were in Rome in July and did the Appian Way Tour with Musa. What a great guide! He knew so much and it was clear he had studied things in his own time. A really interesting person to chat to. The tour takes you off the beaten track to things you would never see without a local. It was a fantastic tour, a bit hot, but it was one of the best things we did in Rome. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
