Cycling in Rome – Is it the way to go? Since the arrival of Lime and other electric scooters to Rome, it has become evident that there really isn’t a good enough reason to use a bicycle. At least amongst the tourists of Rome who have the ease of renting an electric scooter from street side, seem to be having the best of this new service and putting the new post-covid bike lanes into use. As for Roman residents however the bicycle is still a more valid choice since its safer. There have been numerous accidents and even fatalities involving electric scooters since they are much less stable than your humble bicycle.
