Cycling around the Lake of Bracciano isn’t all there is to do in the area north of Rome! In fact in recent years we have seen more and more cyclists taking to the woods and trails that run through the Regional Park of Bracciano and Martigniano Lakes.
The Lake of Martignano is a little hidden from view so is better preserved and more fun by bike. The trail that runs between the two lakes is one of the best bike tours of the area and can be included on a Rome Day Trip. Coming from Ostiense or Trastevere Train Station, it takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Anguillara Sabazia, from where you can cycle to the lakes.
Besides the two lakes in the area there is also a great deal to see around the lakes, cycling through the woodland to Sutri as an ideal overnight trip since its not so far away (total 35 kms from Bracciano train station). Sutri is famous for its etruscan origins and roman ampitheatre carved into the rock and can be reached by cycling thorugh the Regionale Park of Bracciano & Martignano Lake.
