A Red Bicycle Experience on Airbnb

Stopped in Trastevere for a granita di caffe

Earlier this year saw the beginning of a new partnership for us here at the Red Bicycle. Our experience on the Airbnb website offered something unique during a bike tour of Rome, seeing us bring together years of experience as cyclists with a local gastronomic tradition: The Aperitivo.

An array of freshly prepared food, almost all vegetarian with a drink of choice made this experience a ‘must do’ in Rome. You got to experience something local, got feed had a drink and all the while cycled around Rome seeing the sights and hearing about its secrets. What more could one ask for right?! So we made it even better.

Along the route not only would we show you the sights, tell you the secrets but even give you a small portion of “Granita di Caffe”. Now we were starting to hit all the right places. Food, drinks, speciality coffee deserts! I mean it really was something sensational and Airbnb brought it to the top of their list of things to do Rome.

This experience is exclusively available via the Airbnb website, but if you can’t find space on their website then please get in touch-

About the author

Originally from South Africa, I moved to Italy in 2007 after having finished school in England. My grasp of the Italian language was basic but enough to get to know people. By the end of 2008 I had mastered an intermediate level of italian and would continue to progress onto higher levels. Today my proficiency of the italian language is enough to fool some italians into thinking I'm one of them! Although I never manage to be as charming... My other interests besides Italy, the Italians and the Italian way of life are: Cycling, Languages and Travel. At the moment I am heavily involved with the day-to-day running of The Red Bike Shop and am a keen cyclist, taking part in races and especially Grandfondos (one-off races). My goal for the future is to open a fully functional bike shop in the center of Rome.
